     With Motown Records celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Free Press staff traveled literally coast to coast uncovering the histories behind the history, seeking out the stories that demonstrate the label’s continued relevance.  50 Videos will be posted, three of which will feature interviews with Bob Dennis, Founder of RID.

     In the mid 60's a Detroit neighborhood recording company came out of "nowhere" to become the largest independent record company in the world.  Both technical and musical innovations were commonplace and helped shape the independent music industry into what it is today.
