OUR MOTOWN
HERITAGE
At Recording
Institute
of Detroit
"Of
all of the great musical epicenters, perhaps Detroit is one
of the largest in American History ... not just in the 60's
but all the up to the present era." -Roman
Blanquart / DFO The Grammy Museum, 2008
One of the most memorable stories about Motown's early days centers
around the release of "The Same Old Song" by The Four Tops.

MOTOWN HERITAGE ARTICLES |
In the mid 60's a Detroit neighborhood recording company came out of
"nowhere" to become the largest independent record company in the
world. Both technical and musical innovations were
commonplace and helped shape the independent music industry into what it
is today.
