JOB DESCRIPTION:
The graduate of our Pro Audio Specialist program has basic overview of professional audio and recording. This certification gives minimum training for sales jobs in the industry, jobs as apprenticing recording technicians and home, project studio & demo recording personnel.

MEETINGS:     3 Classes - 3.5 hours each + 7 home or campus library study sessions

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

Recording Overview - 3 class meetings:

In the first 3 class meetings, students study the basics of studio and control room setup for a recording session along with the basics of sound and hearing. The section climaxes with a recording session done by the recording instructor with student assistance.

Recording Seminar Alternative

Instead of the above class meetings the student may attend the Pro Audio Specialist seminar held in one or two meetings.
Study Sessions:
Students use interactive CD Roms to study 57 lessons with NINE LESSONS ON AUDIO AND MICROPHONES - SIX LESSONS ON CONSOLES & MIXERS - THREE LESSONS ON DYNAMICS PROCESSING - FIVE LESSONS ON EQUALIZATION - SEVEN LESSONS ON OTHER EFFECTS - THREE LESSONS ON PATCHING AND INTERCONNECTION - SIX LESSONS ON SOUND REINFORCEMENT - SIX LESSONS ON ANALOG RECORDING - SIX LESSONS ON DIGITAL RECORDING - SIX LESSONS ON MIDI. Up to 25 campus hours may be scheduled for this or for individual practice time with instructor assistance.
Final Exam:      Final examination will be given after student has completed study, but must be taken within 90 days of starting the class.
